Privacy Policy
Mukpaw ("Mukpaw", "we", "us") is operated by JPNC America LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Mukpaw iPhone app and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Mukpaw is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. Your email address, or the private relay address Apple provides if you sign in with Apple. Your display name and handle.
- Pet profiles. Pet name, species, and optionally breed, age, weight, and the personality you choose for AI Pet Translation.
- Posts. Photos you upload, captions, and the pets you tag.
- Pet situation notes. A short private note you may add to a post. It is not shown publicly. It is used to generate that post's AI Pet Translation, which is public.
- Product badges. Product photos you take, the product name, brand, and category you enter.
- Interactions. Likes, comments, blocks, and reports you submit.
- Support messages. Anything you send us by email.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data. App events, device model, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate region, collected through Google Analytics for Firebase.
- Push token. A device identifier used to deliver notifications, if you allow them.
- Log data. IP address, timestamps, and error information recorded by our hosting providers for security and reliability.
What we do not collect
We do not collect precise location, contacts, health data, or payment information. Mukpaw has no paid features.
2. How we use your information
- To operate the app: publishing posts, showing the feed, and delivering likes and comments.
- To generate AI Pet Translation for your posts (see section 3).
- To keep the service safe: reviewing reports, removing content that violates our Terms, and suspending accounts.
- To send notifications about activity on your posts, if you allow them.
- To understand how the app is used in aggregate, so we can improve it.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To meet legal obligations.
3. AI Pet Translation and AI processing
Each post can receive an AI Pet Translation (APT) — a short line of text written in your pet's voice. It is generated automatically after you publish, and it is always labeled APT.
To generate it, we send the following to our AI provider:
- Your pet's profile details and chosen personality
- Your pet situation note and caption, if you wrote them
- The name and category of any products you tagged
Generated text is checked automatically for safety before it is shown. Prompts, generated text, and related technical data are recorded by our AI observability provider so we can monitor quality, cost, and errors. These records are retained for 90 days and are not used to train any third party's models.
AI Pet Translation is fiction written for entertainment. It is not a statement of fact about your pet, and it is not veterinary, medical, or product advice.
4. Public information
Some information is public by design. Your handle, display name, profile photo, pet names and profile details, posts, captions, tagged products, AI Pet Translations, and comments can be viewed by anyone, including people who are not signed in. Please do not include anything in a post that you would not want to be public.
Your email address, your pet situation notes, your blocks, and your reports are not public.
5. Service providers
We share information with the following providers so they can perform services for us. They may process your information only on our instructions.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
6. International transfers
Mukpaw is operated from the United States, and our service providers operate in the United States and other countries. If you use Mukpaw from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Settings. When you do, we delete your account, posts, photos, comments, likes, pet profiles, and badges. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Some records may remain for a limited time in backups, in security logs, or where we are required to keep them by law. Content you sent to other people, such as a comment on someone else's post, is removed along with your account.

8. Your choices
- Notifications. You can turn push notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
- Profile. You can edit your display name and pet profiles, and delete individual posts, in the app.
- Account. You can delete your account in the app at any time.
- Requests. You can email us at admin@mukpaw.com to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted.
9. California residents
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request a copy of it, to request correction or deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The categories we collect are described in section 1, and the purposes in section 2.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. To make a request, email admin@mukpaw.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
10. Children
Mukpaw is not directed to children. You must be 18 or older to create an account. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor is using Mukpaw, contact us at admin@mukpaw.com.
11. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will give notice in the app.
